HARAMBEE SPIRIT
‘Harambee’ is Kenya’s official motto. In Swahili, it means “let’s all pull together” and is used to refer to moments where communities come together to accomplish something individuals couldn’t do alone. Enda is all about Harambee. We had a crazy dream that seemed impossible until a community of family, friends and strangers helped make that dream a reality through a crowdfunding campaign.
Enda was founded with a mission of bringing Kenyan athletic greatness to runners everywhere and fueling economic development in Kenya. In pursuit of that mission, we’re measuring our impact in three ways:
Economic development

Supporting local communities
A portion of the purchase price of each pair of shoes goes towards social good initiatives in Kenya, we call it Enda Community Foundation. We work with a panel of experts to find projects where we can have the most impact for people who could use the most help. In the spirit of Harambee, we then engage with our global community of Enda runners to decide which projects to support.

CHANGING THE WAY THE WORLD SEES KENYA
This is the hardest to measure, but perhaps the way in which we’ll have the most impact in the long run. We want the whole world to know the creativity and skill that can be found in Kenya. When you see Made in Kenya on a tag, it should automatically mean quality and contemporary style.
If you have thoughts on how we could most effectively measure our impact on this trend, please get in touch.
