I am Catherine Ndereba, one of the greatest marathoners in history. A two-time world champion and Olympic silver medalist, I was the first woman to break the 2:19 marathon barrier and held the world record in 2001. Known globally as ‘Catherine the Great,’ my journey in the marathon world has been defined by consistency, humility, and a deep love for the sport. I have always been driven by the challenge of pushing my limits and inspiring the next generation of runners, especially women in sports. Through my career and advocacy, I’ve dedicated myself to empowering others to chase their dreams with determination and purpose.
