@wilworksdc has been preparing for the Berlin marathon set for late next month. Wil had his first spin in the Somali Ostrich Lapatets, and his first impressions: “I like the feel of the new upper and the nice design.”

For several people, the original Lapatets fit just fine and deliver on its promise of a comfy long and recovery run pretty well. We did share a quick read on the subtle improvements we made to the Enda Lapatets to ensure a more accommodating fit for everyone.

Eliud Kipchoge Documentary

Finally coming to your screens soon. 23rd August is the release date for the documentary from one of the greatest athletes to ever exist. The marathon King’s documentary labeled: The last milestone is an inside and intimate look at the preparation and execution of the now legendary 1:59:40 he ran in Vienna in 2019. Watch the trailer below that we shared a while ago to give you an idea of what to expect.

Kenya's Fastest Man Omanyala is back!

Ferdinand Omanyala is definitely the man to watch. The 25-year-old who made headlines in the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics where he managed to reach the semi-finals and clocked 10.00 seconds finally joins the sub 10 club. Omanyala who shattered his record twice at the Olympics had a stunning performance in Austria this weekend where he clocked 9.96 in the semis and went ahead to clock an impressive 9.86. On a social media post he shared, Omanyala says it all feels like a dream and that the news will take a moment to sink in. We are proud of you Omanyala! This is only the beginning.

Still Gloomy for Mark Otieno

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for 100M sprinter Mark Otieno. Mark, who failed to participate in the Heats at the Olympics after testing positive for a banned substance. Mark has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit. In a statement released on Thursday, August 12, the AIU said it was awaiting the conclusion of the International Testing Agency proceedings against Mark Otieno and the three other athletes British sprinter CJ Ujah, Bahrain's 1500m runner Sadik Mikhou and Georgian shot-putter Benik Abramyan.

World Under 20 Athletics set to start

The World under 20 Athletics competition is set to begin on the 18th of August and run through for five days. Just like the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, Team Kenya should prepare to face stiff competition from the Ethiopians. The five-day event that has attracted international athletes from 100 countries is certainly something you should be looking forward to. World Athletics will be live streaming the morning and evening sessions on its YouTube channel.

Bekele back to Berlin

Having missed the world record by just 2 seconds in the 2019 Berlin marathon, Ethiopia's legend and Olympic champion will be racing in Berlin on 26 September. In a video posted on his Instagram page, Bekele talks about his preparation for the Berlin marathon and his hopes for the race.

Olympics Stars to battle in Eugene

The Tokyo Olympics may be over, but the 2021 athletic season is far from over as some of the Tokyo 2020 stars are set to settle some Olympic scores with a whole host of rematches on the track. The event is set to feature Olympic medalists like Sifan Hassan who will be taking on two-time World champion Hellen Obiri. In the men's races all three 5000m medalists (Joshua Cheptegei, Mohamed Ahmed, and paul Chelimo will be in action. All we know is that we’re not ready for this!
