There was a huge race last week that seems to have slipped under the radar of world running news, where six Kenyan women athletes attained the 10,000m Olympic qualifying standards. The six who all ran inside of 31:25.00, were led by Sheila Chepkirui, former Africa 5,000m champion.

We’ve got the full rundown in this blog post.

Cheptegei in Ostrava

On 19 May 10,000m and 5000m World record-holder Joshua Cheptegei will compete in the Czech Republic for the first time in his career when he lines up at the 60th edition of the Golden Spike, in Ostrava. The Golden Spike is a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting for international track and field competition. Cheptegei will step down to run the 3000m, hunting for speed. His best for that distance is 7:33.26, but the meeting record of 7:31.66 looks to be within reach for the Ugandan.
