New World Record!
Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands ran a blistering new world record for the mile over the weekend at the Diamond League in Morocco. Her time of 4:12:33 was 23 hundredths of a second faster than the 23 year-old world record.
If you enjoy watching humans push the boundaries of what is possible, then give that video above a few minutes of your time (note: the announcing is in Spanish).

On July 4, Rhonex Kipruto ran the fastest ever 10k run on US soil at the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta. To his coaches and team mates in Iten, it wasn’t much of a surprise. They’ve known for years that the now 19 year old Kipruto was bound to be a champion.
For the rest of the world, it was an introduction to a runner who is the next great name of Kenyan running. Adharanand Finn had a chance to meet Kipruto and share a preview of what’s to come from this rising star.
