Kenya’s Hellen Obiri electrified the 2019 IAAF Diamond League (Photos)

It was an electrifying weekend at this year’s Doha Diamond league. Coming strong from the IAAF world cross country in Aarhus last month Obiri waged and ultimately won a brutal last lap at the 3000 m race to victoriously finish at 8:25:60. Standard media with photos of the day.

Pittsburgh Marathon Sets Up Track at Hospital So Sick Kids Can Get Medals, Too

The hardest thing when you have a sick child in hospital is keeping them entertained. The Pittsburg marathon organisers figured a way to do that for children admitted at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh days before the marathon. They emulated an almost similar experience to the actual children’s fun race by creating a racing track at the hospital’s atrium where children ran as many laps as they would want to complete with dancing and cheering mascots, finisher’s medals and goodie bags. Runners’ world with more on how the organisers brought the marathon to the kids.

Community Bands Together to Remember Woman Strangled and Drowned on Morning Run

What I love about running is how the community of runners stand up for each other. This was evident last weekend when more than 200 runners Jersey city runners gathered to finish a run that Carolina Cano could not finish. Ms Caro was a frequent morning runner at Lincoln Park until March 24th, 2019 when she was brutally murdered while on her morning run just before Sunday Service. The memorial run was held not just to honour her but also to help raise funeral expenses for her family in Peru. Runner’s world with more.
